Unschooling is a form of home education. It is about children learning naturally and parents being partners in their children’s learning. Parents create and maintain a rich and interesting environment where children can follow their interests and passions. Children have lots of choices and options available to them. Parents facilitate, help, encourage, inspire, guide, support and love. Children learn, laugh, play, discover, explore, puzzle, build, invent, create, ponder, go on adventures and learn some more.
Some parents extend the philosophy of unschooling beyond academics and provide children more choices in other areas of their lives. This is called radical unschooling.
The Always Learning Live Unschooling Symposiums are a personal extension of Sandra Dodd's Always Learning list. There are ALL Unschooling Symposiums scheduled in the USA, Portugal, Scotland, the Netherlands and Australia.
The ALL Symposium in Leiden will have unschooling families attending from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Luxemburg and Spain.
